Noise Safety

Metal manufacturing employees, particularly those who operate or work near machines, frequently work in high-noise areas. Excessive noise exposure can damage employee hearing. The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires certain employers to prevent hearing injury to metal manufacturing employees through the implementation of a hearing conservation program. In addition, employers may adopt certain engineering and administrative measures to limit noise exposure.
