Front Desk Staff

Front desk staff may frequently stand for extended periods of time, potentially in static postures. Employers can observe the following safety measures to help prevent these employees from experiencing fatigue, strain, and pain:

  • Provide anti-fatigue mats to reduce back and leg fatigue.
  • Place computer monitors in an appropriate position to minimize eye strain and neck pain.
  • Instruct employees who use the telephone to avoid prolonged conversations with the phone pinched between the shoulder and head, so as to minimize stress and neck pain.
