Overview
Most
farm accidents and fatalities involve machinery. Lack of machine guarding,
proper maintenance, proper lockout procedures, and other insufficient safety
protocols increase the risk that agricultural workers might be struck by, run
over by, entangled in, electrocuted by, or otherwise injured by farm machinery.
This
section discusses how to properly operate, guard, and lock out machines and
equipment, to minimize the risk of machine-related injuries.
