Updating the Business Continuity Plan

After the test results are executed and evaluated by management, it may be necessary to update the BCP and test program. As part of this process, the BCP and test program should be reviewed by senior management, the planning team or coordinator, and team members, at least annually.

The business continuity team coordinator should contact department heads throughout the business at regular intervals to assess the nature and scope of any changes to the business’s operation, structure, systems, software, hardware, personnel, or facilities. If significant changes have occurred in the business environment, the business continuity policy guidelines and program requirements should be updated accordingly.
