Emergency Exit Routes

A successful evacuation requires that employees have the knowledge and ability to escape from the workplace in an emergency. Employees must know where the exits are. Employers must ensure that employees can escape by confirming that doors will be unlocked and that exits will not be blocked if evacuation is necessary.

Exit Route Basic Requirements

An exit route is a continuous and unobstructed path of exit travel from any point within a workplace to a place of safety.
